Dan Sperling has extensive experience producing educational films and videos dating back to his first job working for the PBS television station in Boston, WGBH, as a producer/director for the program, "Flea Market" produced for and by teenagers. He later went on to work as a Director for Georgia Public Television at the University of Georgia, where he produced numerous educational programs: documentaries, educational dramas, instructional videos and public service announcements.
In 1990, he felt he had the knowledge and experience to start his own production company, Dan Sperling Video & Film Productions, and more educational production followed. Mr. Sperling has produced a wide range of educational materials, for instance, videos showing how to operate firefighting equipment, how to present one's case in magistrate and probate court, how to select the highest quality daycare for your child, and how to perform one's job as a bailiff, to name just a few. Recently, Mr. Sperling wrapped up producing a series of 16 DVDs, which included over 20 hours of material, teaching investors how to trade securities, options and the foreign exchanges.
Dan Sperling's experience working in the educational arena, his passion for learning, and his personal experience as a father of two, motivated him to form a sister company, Five Star Educational to begin production and distribution of his own line of educational and entertaining videos for children and young adults.
In his work with Five Star Educational, Dan's philosophy has been that learning should never be boring; but rather that it can and should be fun and entertaining. Considering all the options available to an imaginative scriptwriter, there's no reason for learning to be anything other than a thoroughly enjoyable experience for young people. Taking this to heart, we write and shoot all of our educational videos with young peoples' interests foremost in mind. Our most popular titles include:
